The Role
The Product Analyst role is a key member of a multi-skilled, product-focussed technology team responsible for shaping and prioritising new initiatives and changes, while meeting Lean and Agile delivery principles and forming a deep product knowledge of the micro-mobility technology landscape. The Product Analyst will work with the Product Manager, Engineers and key stakeholders to define and help in the execution of positive change to benefit our customers, external and internal stakeholders. The role holder will provide business/data analysis and testing services to a range of system implementation initiatives.
The candidate should expect to be based in the London office for 2-3 days per week.
Key responsibilities
- Working with business stakeholders and technology to gather requirements for application enhancements or new demand.
- Liaising with Business and relevant stakeholders including external IT teams and Vendor partners to define and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements/specifications for IT system implementations.
- Work with the Product Manager and business SMEs to create high level design (HLD) docs, process flows etc. (anything that takes epics and clarifies what is to be delivered and summarises the business requirements)
- Conduct functional and technical impact analysis in the event of changes to business objectives, requirements and/or technical architectures/platforms.
- Identify & specify as necessary “as is” and “to be” business processes, business systems and associated data dependencies.
- Undertake investigations into data and understand data integrity across a range of IT systems.
- Use this understanding of HLD to define and create business user stories to enable engagement with engineers and development teams
- Work with dev teams to refine/elaborate stories, answer questions/provide relevant info and generally transfer knowledge for what needs to be delivered and why and finalise which stories are needed for build and create acceptance criteria
- Where applicable write tech user stories with developers
- Support the Product Manager with sprint planning
- Identify and manage requirements change, and its implications, across the lifecycle and manage traceability of requirements.
- Provide ongoing support throughout build to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements

- Create test scenarios and execute testing of features being delivered against the captured acceptance criteria and the definition of done.
- Participate in defect triaging and help identify issues.
- Support daily stand ups, retrospectives, showcases etc. with the rest of the sprint team
- Support Product Manager with story sign-off where needed
- Support the business with UAT and user documentation, and be responsible for answering questions about system functionality and ensuring business requirements are met by the system.
- Collaborate with the application support / service teams to ensure smooth transition of applications into their BAU environments.
- Provide frequent updates to product manager and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with other Product Analysts to stay informed with change across all work streams to ensure a consistent approach to change.
- Provide support and guidance to Product Manager for prioritisation of backlog and approach to build
- Backlog grooming – ensure regular reviews to maintain an up-to-date backlog
- Understand and comply with the requirements of Agile Change Lifecycle and Group-mandated business change methods, standards and tools
Person Specification
- The ability to consume and analyse multiple sources of information and form fact-based decisions once all options have been considered
- Ability to negotiate/influence on priority/trade-offs/scope/time options in order to decide optimum way forward; developing internal and external business relationships and using own knowledge, skills and experience to influence others opinions and actions
- Ability to make yourself understood when communicating large amounts of information to a broad range of readers and stakeholders
- Experience working with lean and agile methodologies and proven ability to own and manage a backlog of product user stories
- Ability to translate and articulate business and technology requirements into specific tasks and deliverables
- Analytically minded and able to identify innovative solutions to complex problems
- You are an effective team player and are also capable of working individually with minimal management intervention.
- The right candidate will be action oriented, with a focus on continuous improvement in all areas of work. Known for high energy and productivity the right candidate will be able to deliver quality results with a challenging, positive, influential style.
- The ideal candidate will be able to identify, attempt to rectify and appropriately escalate issues and risks whilst having an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving, with attention to detail at all times.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong Agile background in product analysis and documentation (inclusive of its methodologies (Scrum / Kanban) and documentation
- The candidate should also be aware of using MS Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint (or Google equivalents) with basic awareness of SQL.
- Experience gained in a previous role should evidence the following skills: requirements gathering, business/data analysis and functional design, writing business & technical requirements, writing test cases, test case execution.
- Track record of working with business and technology stakeholders to determine requirements for new systems, products or services.
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Business Analysis role understanding and execution background
- Accredited with industry standard Business Analysis qualifications, Lean and Agile qualifications and an understanding of Business Analysis tools methods and techniques
- Experience in micro-mobility domain is desirable, not essential
