PR & Communications Lead - Full Time

The role

The PR & Communications Lead will act as a spokesperson for Beryl and be the primary day-to-day contact for the media. Alongside, developing the internal and external communications strategy at Beryl, managing partner, stakeholder and media relationships and co-coordinating communications across all stakeholders. 

The role can be fully remote (UK-based), based out of our London HQ or a combination of both. Most people are working from home at the moment and we'll be doing this for the foreseeable future. We'll consider a range of working set ups that best support a candidate's current situation


Responsibilities:

  • Primary spokesperson and contact for local/national/international media
  • Developing the PR strategy supporting Beryl’s brand positioning in the micromobility space
  • Managing local/national/international media contacts & ensuring new features, products, business growth and milestones are covered in the press
  • Proactively building Q&A’s and FAQ information around core products & capabilities
  • Developing relationships with influencers, community leaders, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Writing and distributing Beryl press releases
  • Monitoring and responding to inbound media inquiries
  • Working with design and UX teams to maintain a strong media library for PR use
  • Developing and implementing internal communications process
  • Owning key data and milestones public release
  • Providing Social Media content & supporting the content strategy

Skills and experience

While the ideal candidate should fulfil most of the list below, we know that ideal candidates rarely exist, so we will consider all applications from people keen on learning to fill in any gaps.

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, along with exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Previous communications experience, preferably in a start-up, mobility/transport or green-tech industry.
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills, especially with senior leaders.
  • Understanding of working in partnership with local councils & the UK political landscape.
  • Proactive and highly skilled at executing multiple complex projects with strong project and timeline management.
  • Highly collaborative & skilled in gaining insights across multiple fast moving departments & projects. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent experience in prior roles.
