The role

The Finance Manager reports into the Head of Finance and Shared services at Beryl and will act as one of the key business process owners at Beryl.  

You will be the primary day-to-day contact supporting the business for financial affairs and be responsible for providing a great service. You will contribute directly to the growth of our fast-moving company by delivering an end-to-end finance presence, you will be able to go where necessary to have the greatest impact.

In addition, you will help maintain the great relationships already in place with key stakeholders, supply chain and customers.

The role is based out of our London HQ.  However, for the foreseeable future the role will be remote and going forward likely to be a combination of the two. Responsibilities:

·    Overall responsibility for the monthly financial and management      accounting process.

·    Cash flow control and reporting.

·    Quarterly VAT and annual R&D claims submission.

·    Active cash flow and working capital management by ensuring the accounts receivable and payable processes are executed effectively.

·    Bank account management and reconciliations

·    Work with our newly formed operations team to build robust and effective month end and supply chain processes.

·    Support and drive a flexible budgeting and forecasting cycle.

·    Provide oversight of the monthly payroll process

·    Other ad-hoc reporting and duties as necessary to support the Senior Leadership Team in Beryl.

·    Help, advise and support the other members of the support services team.

 

Skills and experience

While the ideal candidate should fulfill most of the list below, we know that ideal candidates rarely exist, so we will consider all applications from people keen on learning to fill in any gaps.

·    Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA) or QBE with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

·    Skilled at making wise and sometimes imaginative accounting judgement and keen to deliver to regular financial deadlines.

·    Previous reporting and cash flow management experience within a vibrant and varied working environment.

·    Collaborative and skilled in gaining trust across multiple fast-moving non-financial departments and projects. 

·    Well organised, resourceful and effective in your working style.

·    An eye for process and the desire to discover and implement improvements using appropriate project and implementation methodology

·    Excellent Xero, MS Office and G-Suite skills – we have them all!

·    Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent experience in prior roles.
